Citizenship Advocate

TITLE:CITIZENSHIP ADVOCATE 

BASIC FUNCTION:Engage expected Lawful Permanent Residents (LPLs) to become US Citizen and generate required reports to funding source.  

 

REPORTS TO:Community Engagement & Mobilization  Director 

DATE:1/2019 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  1. Develop and leverage relationship with venues to secure presentations to recruit potential candidates for US citizenship. 

  1. Work collaboratively with the Lead Promoter in the recruitment of Lawful Permanent Residents to become US Citizens. 

  1. Follow up with potential candidates to secure engagement in the citizenship workshops. 

  1. Assist with screening of LPLs for eligibility to become citizens and logistics of citizenship workshops. 

  1. Recruit and secure individuals to become volunteers in this project and assist with citizenship workshops. 

  1. Provide training to volunteers who will be engaged with the New Americans Initiative. 

  1. Participate in required meetings established by funding source and internal meetings as needed. 

  1. Maintain accurate documentation of outreach, recruitment, follow up and outcomes via funding source database. 

  1. Generate accurate internal and external reports of activities as needed. 

  1. Other duties as assigned. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • Computer knowledge required

  • Knowledge and experience working with the Latino Community at the western suburbs. 

  • Ability to work flexible hours 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Public Speaking and interpersonal skills
